Creating Measurements
Measure Distances
To create a measurement
Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
On the toolbar, click Distance Measure.
Pick the point, edge or face from which you want to start measuring.
Pick the point, edge or face of the object from to which you want to measure.
A label appears, showing the measurement between the selected points.
Measure Vertical or Horizontal Distances
The Horizontal/Vertical measurements tool allows you to create an horizontal or vertical measurement between two objects.
Once the tool is active you will first pick a point, edge or face of an object. For the second point, you can only pick objects perpendicular to the first picked point.
The measurement created will then represent the shortest distance between the point, edge or surface, and the picked object. Distance measurements are shown red, horizontal or vertical measurements are blue.
To create a vertical or horizontal measurement
Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
On the toolbar, click Vertical or Horizontal Shortest Distance.
Pick a point, face, or edge from which you want to start measuring.
Pick an object perpendicular to the first point that you want to measure.
A dotted blue line will appear when you are hovering over an object that is perpendicular to your first picked point.
5. Select the object.
A label will appear, showing the measurement between the selected point and the object.
Measure a Single Point
To measure a single point
Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
On the toolbar, click Single Point.
Pick the point, edge or face you want to measure.
